Abu Burda reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sent Mu’adh and himself to Yemen and he said, “Make things easy and do not make things difficult. Give glad tidings and do not repel people. Cooperate with each other and do not become divided.”

The Dawah Society of Ohio was founded by several members of Masjid Al Rahman located in Canton, Ohio after the death of Imam Malik Abdul-Zahir. The Dawah Society of Ohio was founded to keep the vision of Imam Malik alive by providing education, outreach, and advocacy within the Islamic community and beyond.
"To get what you love, you must first be patient with what you hate."

Being a Muslim in Ohio often has its challenges. Being a convert to Islam can be even more challenging and is often a lonely journey. The Dawah Society of Ohio hopes to make that journey a little bit easier for those who take it.
The mission of the Dawah Society of Ohio is to promote Islamic education, to provide outreach to new Muslims and to local communities, and advocate for Muslims in general and new Muslims in particular especially those incarcerated.
A recent Pew Research Study indicated that about 100,000 people convert to Islam each year in the USA and about the same number leave Islam each year. It is the goal of the Dawah Society of Ohio to support and encourage those new to Islam in an effort to make new converts welcome and feel a sense of community and belonging. We are non-sectarian in our approach to Islam, in that we don't stress any one sectarian view of Islam preferring to provide support regardless of how an individual chooses to express their Deen.
